An inventive wine/bottle storage system created with Steel Flat Bar and Pipe.  With the thin profile and cantilevered bottle storage this design creates a dramatic three dimensional wall treatment.

By layering local newsprint as the ‘urban voice’, this mural begins a life of layers.  Charcoal adds line and buildings.  Inside the buildings you can make out current popular culture.

Strong Industrial Character (S.I.C.)

Urban Industrial at its best…  This table was created from re purposed ISO dividers.  The dividers were moved to refresh the Drake Cooper office space. This table was a realization of repurposing and the thought that we could do a great circular table using the cut offs as legs.  This table is great for games and working.  The lower profile with two adjustable heights gives you flexibility. The Formica top is durable with a slim lined profile.  Its name comes from the interaction with the table.  When you move it…it responds.

Catalyst for Artistic Growth

A design-driven retail store for customers who appreciate craftsmanship, value and quality, with a nod to environmentally responsible, sustainable business and design practices.  With our design, we have begun the process of the Green Chutes mission statement.  As part of the space we have designed specific objects; including a bar, reception/POS area, movable wall system, divider, wood work table, and lighting.  The unique designs are custom, relating the artistic nature that design can take when we think a little differently.  The design we have come up with will create a strong backdrop to the many amazing products that other artists and designers bring into the space.

Green Chutes will also house a creative cafe, Salt Tears Coffee House and Noshery.  Like the sweat and tears of the industrial area, Salt Tears will feed the soul.  Based on that creative and design-driven thinking the espresso bar, soda bar, food bits, beer and wine will be a creative driving force in the environment.  It is the place to meet, eat, shop, discuss, relax, network and appreciate!

A blend of naturally finished plywood with solid steel construction.  The thin formed 3/16″ steel sheet center creates the centerpiece of this design.

Not your typical portable bar.  This bar extends the concepts of using natural plywood, wood beams, steel and formica to create amazing storage, easy to use and clean, one of a kind bar for any occasion.

A  designers dream…made with rectangular steel and given a beautiful blue green patina with casters for ultimate movement… The form flows seamlessly with a bit of symmetry and the Z pattern creating even more distinct interest with asymmetry.  The table height allows it to function as a work table for displaying items, interacting with clients, and standing or sitting with higher bar stools.  The design is flexible and may be fashioned into different heights and lengths if needed.  A unique addition to the GOSPAD table line.

With a slim profile and strong industrial bolts the Sling table is suitable for many applications.  It can be flat packed for easy shipping.  The curved legs give it a soft design while maintaining a strength through the steel and bolts.  The glass top allows you to see the beautiful handcrafted base.  This table is available in custom sizes and heights and you can choose different types of glass to suit your design needs.

After returning from France and being exposed to Victorian Furniture we looked at how to create a similar feeling with an industrial edge… This table is made with flat bar and rectangular tubing from cut offs of past projects.  The beautiful rust patina is created with a weeks of rain and a unique chemical mixture.  This table is available is different shapes and sizes.  There are multiple patinas to choose from.

Combining the sensual curves of period solid wood table legs with 3/16″ steel sheet.  The thin, but extremely strong top, gives this table a sleek look.  The curved legs offer ornamentation and decadence.  In this case the soft legs have been hardened with a high gloss enamel finish.  The earthen elements have been stripped leaving the table to shine in all its urban metro industrial glamour!  Custom colors and sizes are available.  Please contact us for more information!

This table was conceived through the fascination with creating objects from sprinkler pipe, many times recycled lengths that could not be used.  Guigon cut the pipes to different lengths for variation and arranged them in an X type of pattern.  Each pipe was welded to the other.  The tops were polished to accentuate the circle pattern.  The table comes apart into two pieces and is equipped with a very large allen wrench to disassemble.  The large castors add to the industrial nature of the table.  The glass top allows you to see through to the form holding it up.  This is a table used for creation and business-industry gatherings.

Clean and cool.  The simplicity of function.  With hidden casters and clean lines this table helps to make a small room bigger.

This table was made as a conference table specifically.  Each table can be customized for use.  There is a hole in the center for data and projection capabilities.  The finish is a powder coat.  The surface of the top is white and can double as a surface for writing on and brainstorming.  The castor is hidden giving it a stable look with the function of mobility.  This table could be modified without the center hole and is available is many different sizes and colors.

This table was created from multiple pieces of salvaged flat bar.  It uses a salvaged piece of glass for the top.  The legs are finished in a Rhino Lining. www.rhinolinings.com/.  This finish is extremely durable to ensure the longevity of the product.  It can function as a dining table, work table, or conference table.

Organic materials have their own way of taking form. The goal with the work table was to create a work space for 1-6 people. The shape allows for comfortable viewing and discussion. There is no hiding the fact it was made by hand and no levels or squares were used. The table as a whole is organic. Nothing is strait or perfect. This gives it a sense of being used. Cleaned up a little and used again. Then reused. It’s function always being a space to create.  This table uses reclaimed wood and can be made to order in various sizes and different leg configurations.

After the first stage of development, the keg-o-wine program was so popular that we did a redesign for a more ‘producable’ tap…

Newsprint Medium…The challenge to come up with a creative idea for a stage back drop at the Rockies Advertising Awards Ceremony.  Approached by the design team, GOS PAD looked at the ‘heaven and hell’ theme and decided on creating wings to be placed behind the award acceptance.

This project took the help of many hands rolling each piece of newsprint and feeding them through the overall structure.

In a 100 year old brick building in Boise Downtown (BoDo) at the 8th St. Mercantile Building Guigon Olson Studios created a unique working environment for start up firm Balihoo… GOSPAD created a new, creative, and work enhancing office area for 70+ people, in a space that used to house 30 separate offices. The open design promotes a more collaborative working environment, and also lends itself to evolution and mobility, one of the many qualities of the GOSPAD design!

80% of the build out was done using recycled/salvaged materials (many from the actual space). GOSPAD, with upcycling of materials has created a visionary space with the materials at hand. One viewer said that we design with “what’s in season”…kind of an interesting thought. Well it suits us!

740 2 x 4′s were salvaged in the space.  Hundreds of feet of electrical wire and conduit were reused in the new lighting plan.  Doors became Countertops.  Shower Doors that had been discontinued became a very dramatic wall seperation.  A large pile of veneer boards that were destined for the landfill were repurposed into wood paneling for the office walls where there was more privacy needed.  The space has rough edges that fit the character of the building.

An Art Car

This is a collaborative project with a very creative crew.  Jimmy J from New York and Shawn Phillips from Idaho realized it in theory.  With one month to build, the collective effort of each individual involved made it happen… This project was made for Burning Man 2009.  It was designed and constructed by a group of individuals from New York, Florida, and Idaho GOSPAD was involved in the actual fabrication of the structure, which was designed by Architect John Parker.  GOSPAD lend their artistic skills to the building of the Squid, which rode atop the completed structure.  The form was designed by Jimmy from New York and completed by Christophe.  Corrin lent her painting expertise to the squid eyes and helped create the signage that swung on the front with fellow artist Jenny, also from New York.  For the nights, Ben Barbieri from Florida masterfully placed lighting.  The collaborative nature of this project was truly amazing with so many pieces falling into place through synchronistic events!  Of course, this, like burning man itself, was a temporary product to be shared for one week on the Playa in September of 2009.

“…you really need MORE small hills to make a larger hill rather than trying to squash out the small hills around you so that your hill looks bigger…”

But action and the moment are TRUE…

Bri’s Pencil Bench started from the love of one girl and her reciprocal love and friendship to those around her… Bri’s mother contacted Christophe Guigon and Corrin Olson to work with her class to develop a unique and everlasting memorial to her life.  They went to Riverstone School to meet with the class.  In the classroom they passed out blank sheets of paper from a journal. The kids had pencils and pens.  Guigon and Olson asked them to draw images that reminded them of Bri, her character and self.  There were numerous images drawn; monkeys, cards, the color pink, and a pencil.  This was not just any pencil but a double side sharpened pencil down the smallest size for use.  This image stood out to Christophe and the ideas began to foster.

The process fell into the hands of the art team.  They shared the process of building this idea into reality with the class.  It is a true example of the process of design through execution into reality!  This included architect Steve Trout with CAD drawings, Boise Metal Works for water jet cutting, Idaho Tank and Culvert for the cones, Guigon Olson Studios for the fabrication, and Epsco on the powder-coated finish.

The bench was placed at the Idaho Botanical Gardens in Memory of Bri Flanders and her love of writing and art on May 15th.  It is part of the beginning of the new Childrens Garden, another love of Bri’s!
